Greeley is located in Weld County, about 25 miles east of Interstate 25, mid-way between Denver and Cheyenne, WY at the confluence of Cache la Poudre and South Platte Rivers. Since 1964, Weld County has ranked within the top ten agricultural production counties in the nation and one of the most prolific zones for oil and natural gas development.
The University of Northern Colorado is located in Greeley. Greeley is home to over 100 pieces of public art, many of which can be seen on a stroll through downtown.
A must-see museum is the Centennial Village Museum. Centennial Village Museum is a living history experience that features over 35 historical buildings, costumed interpreters, heritage farm animals, and 8-acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. Visitors step back in time and learn about the settling of the western high plains, a time when grand houses, growing businesses, extensive prairies and agriculture were all a part of daily life.
Visitors can stroll through historical Centennial Village to view original homes, businesses, and churches, or they can head to the High Plains section to learn about the area’s Native American roots.
